Support for African Ophthalmology Congress (AOC)

In 2024, Fondazione Leonardo Del Vecchio Rwanda sponsored the African Ophthalmology Congress (AOC). Held in Kigali from 27 to 29 July 2024, this congress brought together ophthalmology experts, academics, and healthcare professionals from across Africa to exchange best practices and address the continent’s eye health challenges.

Also in 2025, Fondazione Leonardo Del Vecchio Rwanda sponsored the Scientific Congress organized by the African Ophthalmology Council (AOC), held on 26–27 September 2025.
The congress brought together 309 participants from 34 countries, connecting eye care professionals from across Africa and beyond; the event was a hub for sharing knowledge and ideas.
Topics ranged from cataract care to monoclonal antibodies developed in Africa, from effective eye care delivery systems to innovative training programs.
During the congress, our Foundation featured a short advertisement during the breaks, highlighting the Leonardo Del Vecchio Eye Care Center of Excellence and its work to strengthen eye health in the region.
